house of leaves, my car, and the weather

heya! im sitting here... alone... well... sort of... i am accompanied by the sound of my sister and mom snoozingon the couch and "animal star" on animal planet.

its still super cold and so cold that i have been forced to be lazy and stay in the house... again... i cant wait for summer. i dont desirve this. not this cold... i can take a brisk walk to the car... i can even handle a little rosy cheek action.. but i am not one for things freezing... LIKE MY CAR!

so im doing my usual coffee and kisses... chewing my lip and waiting for may...

i started reading my book i mentioned in the last entry... and i would like to share the opening paragraph as a way of coaxing someone else to read it and discuss it with me... or perhaps you have already read it!!!

its called "The House of Leaves" by Mark Z. Daniellewiskowski or... Danielewski... yeah... that ones right...

here goes...

"i still get nightmares. in fact i get them so often that i should be used to them by now. but im not. no one ever really gets used to nightmares. for a while i tried every pill imaginable. anything to curb the fear. excedrine pms, melationin, l-tryptophan, valium, vicodin, quite a few members of the barbital family. a pretty extensive list, frequently mixed, often matched with shots of burbon, a few lung rasping bong hits, sometimes even the vaporous confidence-trip of cocaine. none of it helped. i think its pretty safe to assume theres no lab sophisticated enough yet to synthesize the kind of chemicals i need. a nobel prize to the one who invents that puppy."

and thats just the first paragraph of the introduction... its a horror book and i can only imagine whats in store... i havent read as much of it as i would like to being that reading is relaxing and makes me sleepy... i cant wait for the duo to get off the couch and go to bed so i can claim it and read more... i really suggest you pick up this book...really...

oh, and i was wrong, its "pet star" not animal...
